The best $6 I’ve spent in a long time, was for a coffee accessory. Yes this low-cost, golden coffee scooper has made my life so much easier, in fact I even went out and bought a second one. It’s a multi-purpose gadget and as an added bonus it’s stylish.
I’m more of a target gal myself, but when a friend called and asked to meet her at Walmart to help pick out some things for her new apartment, I gladly tagged along. We found ourselves standing in the utensil/kitchen gadget aisle for quite some time, going back and forth with ourselves as to whether we needed the mini grater or mini whisk because why not? There’s just something about mini kitchen items that are enticing to buy because they are 1. Cute and 2. How many times have you found yourself whipping out a large grater for the world’s smallest lemon or ginger clove? *cue the minis*. Amongst the aisle of every utensil possible, was the golden coffee scooper. My eyes instantly darted right to it and I knew I had to have it. When I picked it up, I saw that it doubled as a bag clip and that sealed the deal for me -I didn’t even look at the price as I tossed in the cart. When it rang up for $6, I was ecstatic to say the least.
There’s no doubt that coffee is near and dear to everyone’s hearts. So much so that water might second to it. Not only does it create a sense of joy and relaxation, but it’s a great way to catch up with a friend or sip with family after dinner. So, why not make it easier for yourself with the right tools and gadgets?
Rather than dirty yet another spoon, you can use a coffee scooper and a bag clip, all in one. Especially if you are like me, having multiple cups a day, the coffee spoons add up quickly and by the end you end up with all of your spoons in the dishwasher with none to use for dinner. You can either use it as the bag clip, or just toss it right in the coffee bag! We order Bulletproof Coffee, both the mentalist and decaf, and keep it sealed in the bag after each use, however the bag never seems fully closed or folded down enough and the little tabs on the bag just don’t do the job after 2 or 3 times of re-opening and closing the bag. This is where this scooper really shines. It tightly holds the bag closed and does not rip or puncture the bag like some others that we have used.
Being huge coffee lovers, we switched to making all of our coffee at home (regular and espresso) in efforts to save time and money. Don’t get me wrong, we still love to head out and enjoy a cup of coffee at a coffee shop, we just do it a lot less now that we have all these cool gadgets to play with! It’s the little things in life that really matter and can make a huge difference in our lives!
Ever since we started using the Bodum Pour Over Coffee Maker, we’ve had to start measuring out the amount of coffee grinds we were using. By using this scooper each time, we now know that it only takes 5 scoops to get to the 35g that we need to brew the perfect ‘Chemex style’ cup of coffee. If we were to use a spoon, we’d be mis-measuring every time because all spoon sizes are different and it’s hard to gauge if you are grabbing the same ‘spoonful amount’ each time.
If you do not have a Walmart near you, you can also find this bad boy on Amazon or in multiple colors at Bloomingdales!
