~ Go Green with a Matcha Latte ~



Happy St Patrick’s Day! The day (weekend) of everything green. Rather than grabbing a McDonald’s Shamrock Shake or a Green Beer, opt for this green matcha latte. It’s just as bright as the other two, but has a whole latte benefits (yes, i went there) that the others lack. Only three ingredients, but packed with antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and lots of flavor. If you happen to over indulge this weekend and want to get back into the swing of things and feel great on your Sunday Funday, this matcha creation will do the trick!

What’s even more awesome is that you can make this all in the comfort of your own home without having to wait in a drive-thru line or be in a bar, trying to conform and keep up with social norms.

First, measure out your scoops of matcha powder and place into a small bowl.


Next, heat some water to about 165° and slowly pour over the matcha powder. Stir with the bamboo whisk until it’s all mixed together – using a whisk allows for easy stirring and getting rid of any clump buildup.


While the water is heating, you may want to get a head start on frothing your milk. Here, I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk, it isn’t as creamy as cream or coconut milk would be but the vanilla adds a little extra flavor.


Once your milk is frothed and your matcha is stirred, pour the matcha over the milk.


You can make it artsy by adding some matcha powder to that top!


— This recipe doesn’t call for any added sweetener, but you could add some local raw honey or stevia if need be.
